Construction Estimating

Site Construction Estimating (SCE) works with architects and designers to realize their creative vision while adhering to their clients’ budget and schedule requirements. Leveraging our extensive experience, market insights, and technical expertise, SCE provides accurate and precise estimates, finding value solutions to maximize client satisfaction.

Project Scope Definition

Understand the project requirements, objectives, and scope. This involves reviewing architectural plans, engineering drawings, specifications, and any other relevant documents.

Takeoff

This step involves quantifying the materials and labor required for each aspect of the project based on the project scope. This is often done by performing a takeoff from the drawings and specifications.

Material Cost Estimation

Research current market prices for materials from suppliers and adjusting for factors like location, seasonality, and quantity discounts.

Labor Cost Estimation

Determine the labor hours needed for each task and applying labor rates, considering factors such as skill level, union agreements, and prevailing wages.

Equipment Cost Estimation

If specialized equipment is needed for the project, estimate the costs associated with equipment rental or ownership, including fuel, maintenance, and operator costs.

Earthwork Modeling

Use specialized CAD software to model the sites to determine the soil cut/fill volumes needed for the project.

What projects does SCE do estimating for?

SCE creates accurate cost estimations for large civil construction projects such as university buildings, stadiums, parks, etc.

What parts of a project does SCE not estimate?

SCE does not do estimating for plumbing, electrical or mechanical components of a project. Those are specialized fields that require a different sub-contractor.

Why is SCE trusted by so many architects and contractors?

SCE has a dedicated staff of estimators and project analysts that strive to provide the most accurate and timely estimates.
